Dictate discharge summaries
I & D Abscesses
Make rounds on patients and write progress notes
Nasogastric intubation and lavage
Order laboratory tests, radiological tests, and procedures, EKGs and other diagnostic tests as directed by the supervising physician
Pap Testing
Perform initial assessment including history & physical with chart notes and dictation of the same.
Perform routine laceration repair
Prescribe Schedule III, IV, and V controlled substances
Provide routine incision and dressing care as needed
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Central venous lines
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Drains
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Gastronomies
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Nephrostomy tubes
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Suprapubic tubes
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Tubes
Render care within scope of training in an emergency
Venipuncture and arterial puncture, I.M. and subcutaneous injections
Write orders for treatments and therapies, consultations, intravenous fluids, diet, and enteral feedings as directed by the supervising physician
Wound Care
Wound care (removal sutures, drains, dressing changes)
Wound Closure(deep and superficial structures)
Wound debridement and repair
Wound Treatment (skin and subcutaneous excluding tendon repair)
