Administer medications and perform other emergency treatment
Apply, remove and change dressing and bandages
Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services
Core privileges include the procedures listed and such other procedures that are extensions of the same techniques and skills
Counsel and instruct patients and significant others as appropriate
Initiate referral to appropriate physician or other healthcare professional of problems that exceed the APRN scope of practice
Make daily rounds on hospitalized patients
Management of care including risk appraisal, interpretation of diagnostic tests, providing treatment, and prescribing medication for patients with complex needs who are critically ill
Management of critically ill patients within the age group of patients seen by the sponsoring physician
Monitor and managem stable acute and chronic illnesses of the population serves
Obtain and record medical and social history and perform physical examinations including rectal and pelvic exams as needed
Order diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities such as laboratory tests, medications, treatments, x-rays, EKG, IV fluids and electrolytes, etc.
Prescriptive Authority in Accordance with State and Federal Law
Record progess notes and write discharge summaries
