Provide care to all newborns, including those with extremely complex and life-theratening problems, including but not limited to respiratory failure, sepsis, shock,congenital abnormalities
Umbilical artery and vein catheterization
Ventilator care of infants beyond emerging stabilization
Administration of Procedural Sedation (Conscious Sedation)-Pediatrics

Attendance at deliveries
Care of normal newborns equal to or greater than 2000 grams of body weight and equal to or greater than 35 weeks gestation
Circumcision of the newborn with anesthesia
Consultation
Core privileges include the procedures listed and such other procedures that are extensions of the same techniques and skills

Emergency care of general pediatric patient (PALS required)

Level II Care of Infants - 2000 grams or over 35 weeks gestation
Level II Nursery-Requires clinical oversignt from neonatologist
Minor surgical procedures involving nail, skin, and subcutaneous tissue
Needle decompression of tension pneumothorax/chest tube placement (emergent)
Newborn nursery care (routine)
Pain Management
Perform history and physical exam
Perform non-surgical procedures that are not life-threatening unless otherwise indicated
Perform venipuncture
Peripheral arterial puncture
Peripheral venous catheter
Phototherapy of hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice)
Placement of intravenous lines
Privileges include the care of patients up to the age of 21
Repair minor lacerations
Splinting, casting, or immobilization of simple fractures

Treatment of simple, non surgical gastrointestinal conditions
Urinary (bladder) Catheterization
Ventilator management (emergent)
Level II Care of Infants (South)- 1500 grams or greater than 32 weeks
