Counsel family regarding progress, medical problems and care, home care and support, and prescribed treatment of drugs
Dictate discharge summaries
Make rounds on patients and write progress notes
Order laboratory tests, radiological tests, and procedures, EKGs and other diagnostic tests as directed by the supervising physician
Perform initial assessment including history & physical with chart notes and dictation of the same.
Prescribe Schedule III, IV, and V controlled substances
Provide routine incision and dressing care as needed
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Central venous lines
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Drains
Remove as directed by the supervising physician: Tubes
Render care within scope of training in an emergency
Venipuncture and arterial puncture, I.M. and subcutaneous injections
Write orders for treatments and therapies, consultations, intravenous fluids, diet, and enteral feedings as directed by the supervising physician
Accompanying patient to PACU
Application of dressings
Chart Review
Patient assessment

Providing hemostasis (coagulation, ligation)
Review of X-rays, CT, MRI, etc.
