Adult Core Privileges: Admission*, work-up, diagnosis, and provision of non-surgical care for patients greater than age 17 without life-threatening complications, management of serious conditions with appropriate consultation, informal EKG interpretation, short-term chemical withdrawal, short-term non-major psychiatric illness. Must demonstrate competencies as attending physician for adult inpatients.
Pediatric Core Privileges: Admission*, work-up, diagnosis, and provision of non-surgical care for patients from birth to 18 years without major complications or serious life-threatening disease, management of serious pediatrics conditions with appropriate consultation, care of newborn (over 2000 grams), care of newborn (preterm or low weight infant w/non life threatening illness & not requiring ventilatory support). Must demonstrate competencies as attending physician for pediatric inpatients.
Obstetric Core Privileges: Admission*, work-up, diagnosis, and provision of non-surgical care for female patients of all ages presenting in any condition of pregnancy or illnesses, injuries, or disorders of the obstetric system. Privileges include normal spontaneous vaginal delivery and induction & augmentation of labor, including ante partum and post-partum care, repair of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd degree vaginal and cervical lacerations-mild to moderate, management of gestational diabetes (insulin dependent) and assist at C-Section. Must demonstrate involvement as a primary physician in at least 10 normal deliveries during the past two years.
