CORE PRIVILEGES Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients from birth through adolescence with acute and chronic disease including major complicated illnesses. The core privileges in this specialty include the procedures on the attached procedures list and such other procedures that are extensions of the same techniques and skills. Pediatric hospitalist privileges are only applicable to Noblesville Hospital.
CORE PROCEDURES LIST (This is not intended to be an all-encompassing procedures list. It defines the types of activities/procedures/privileges that most practitioners in this specialty perform at this organization and inherent activities/procedures/privileges requiring similar skill sets and techniques.) - Performance of history and physicial exam - Incision and drainage of abscesses - Wound care and suture of uncomplicated lacerations - Oxygen delivery and airway management (BMV, Intubation) - Vapotherm management - CPAP mangement - Vascular access - Arterial blood draw - Lumbar puncture - Foreign body removal - Placement of inraosseous lines - Placement of IV lines - Placement of umbilical lines - Neonatal chest tube - Local anesthetic techniques - Emergency ventilator management for pending transfer
